Flora Pettit is Pleased to Announce that Three New Attorneys Have Joined the Law Firm in its Charlottesville Office

Flora Pettit is pleased to announce that Marc A. Peritz, Christopher R. Tate and Shannon A. Temlak have joined the law firm in its Charlottesville office.

Marc Peritz, formerly of Morin & Barkley LLP, maintains a varied litigation practice devoting a substantial portion of his practice to medical malpractice defense, trucking litigation, insurance coverage litigation and counseling, insurance defense litigation, and other types of complex litigation and commercial matters. He has practiced extensively in many state and federal courts throughout Virginia and has also been involved in litigation in several other jurisdictions around the country. Marc’s experience includes litigation matters in both public service and in the private sector. Prior to his private practice, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable James H. Michael, Jr., United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Marc earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, with a B.S. in Commerce (Finance), and his law degree from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law, Williamsburg, VA.  

Chris Tate, formerly of Morin & Barkley LLP, focuses his practice on civil litigation, including medical malpractice defense, insurance coverage and defense, construction litigation, and commercial litigation.  In addition, Mr. Tate maintains an active higher education law practice, providing investigation, consultation, and crisis response services to colleges and universities. Prior to engaging in private practice, he served as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the University of Virginia and as Senior Counsel to the House of Representatives Committee on Ethics. Chris earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs, and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Pittsburgh, PA, cum laude.  

Shannon Temlak, a recent law graduate, focuses her practice on civil litigation including commercial, real estate and employment litigation.  She also has experience with family law and management employment law counseling.  Shannon earned her undergraduate degree from Elon University, Elon, NC, with a B.A. in Political Science & Policy Studies, summa cum laude, and her law degree with a concentration in Intellectual Property from William & Mary Law School, Williamsburg, VA.  Shannon clerked for Flora Pettit in the summer of her second year.
