Richard Howard-Smith completes “Business Organizations in Virginia” for upcoming publication

Richard Howard-Smith recently completed “Business Organizations in Virginia,” a chapter in the upcoming 2016 edition of Virginia Law and Practice: A Handbook for Attorneys, published by Virginia Continuing Legal Education Publications.  Intended primarily for lawyers, Richard’s chapter covers Virginia business entities, including the main features and differences of various types of entities, and contains an overview of the major income tax considerations and differences among the various business entities. Richard is a tax attorney with the firm, practicing primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration, business organizations and transactions, charitable planned giving, taxation, tax-exempt organizations, and general business work.
