Jennifer Shirkey presented “Drafting Under the SECURE Act” at ACTEC Southeast Regional Meeting in Richmond, VA.

Jennifer and her co-presenter, Steve Gorin of Thompson Coburn LLP, discussed estate planning for retirement plan assets with accumulation and conduit trusts under the latest SECURE Act guidance, including practical advice on use and drafting. The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) is an association of lawyers and law professors skilled and experienced in the preparation of wills and trusts; estate planning; and probate procedure and administration of trusts and estates of decedents, minors and incompetents. To qualify for membership as an ACTEC Fellow, a lawyer must have no less than 10 years’ experience in the active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning. Lawyers are elected based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities. Jennifer was elected as an ACTEC Fellow in 2018.
